20th Photo Salon of Alföld 2014

October 25, 2014

The Cultural Centre of Szentes and the Photo Club of Szentes has been organizing the 20th Alföld Photo Salon this year. It is a countrywide competition. 93 photographers’ 441 photos had arrived to the contest, and the jury (Gábor Kasza, László György Király, Zsolt Olaf Szamódy) accepted 32 photographer’s 58 photos to be exhibited.
The jury honoured me by accepting four solargraphies from my five submitted ones and I received the Special Award (for my collection).
The high quality of the exhibition is also reflected in the diversity of the photos. They were made by different processes and concepts, eg. anthrakotype, coloured cianotype, alumitype, film montage, camera obscura etc. So the visitors can get an insight into the photos from digital technique and in addition the world of old and archaic processed photos.
After the opening ceremony of the exhibition István Nagy (leader of the Szentes Photo Club ) invited me to introduce the method of solargraphy.
The exhibition will be open till 21. November 2014.
